Dr. Shaw received his undergraduate degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa (1953) and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School, Johannesburg, South Africa (1959). Dr. Shaw completed internships in Surgery at General Hospital, Johannesburg, South Africa (1960) and General Medicine at Baragwanath Hospital, Johannesburg, South Africa (1961). He completed his residencies in the following areas:
Dr. Shaw completed his fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland (1969). Dr. Shaw has been Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatrics since 1970 and the American Board of Endocrinology since 1976. He speaks English and Afrikaans. Dr. Shaw has been elected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America® from 1996-2009. Best Doctors® is a leading resource for linking consumers with expert medical care.
