Dr. Bowers received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1993 and earned her Doctor of Medicine in 1997, both from the University of South Florida. She also completed her pediatrics residency in 2000 at the University of South Florida.

She has been board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics since 2000. She is particularly interested in managing asthma in patients, as she is also personally affected by asthma.

Her drive to improve patient care in the Tampa Bay area is reflected in her career and involvement in the community. Dr. Bowers was a former Medical Correspondent for the Tampa Tribune (now the Tampa Bay Times) and has been active in various PHCA committees including the Electronic Medical Records Committee and the Quality Committee. She is also a former member of the PHCA Board of Directors.

“I enjoy the privilege of caring for children, keeping them healthy, and watching your family grow.”

Dr. Bowers is married and has one son. In her free time, she enjoys reading, shopping, and listening to reggae music. She also loves to go on cruises whenever possible.

Dr. Bowers has been continually selected by her peers for inclusion in the biennial Best Doctors in America® list. Physicians are chosen through an exhaustive peer-review survey that asks: "If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them?" Only physicians who earned the consensus support of their peers were included.
