Effective June 24, 2020 | Updated August 7, 2020
Several city and county ordinances have been implemented in our area that require people to wear masks when visiting public businesses. In order to comply with these ordinances and to ensure a consistent policy, PHCA will be requiring masks for visitors at all clinics (regardless of location) until further notice. We have been strongly encouraging use of masks for several months, and now we are upgrading our policy to require them.
What You Need to Know:
- Limited Exclusions: Masks will not be required for children younger than 2 years of age, or for any person with a health condition that could be exacerbated or compromised by wearing a mask.
- It is necessary to provide your own mask. We need all patients and family members visiting our offices to be responsible for bringing your own masks. Our supply of PPE is very limited, and having to provide masks to visitors would severely compromise our ability to provide necessary PPE to our providers and staff.
- Facial masks with valves are discouraged. These valves allow unfiltered exhalation, which can still spread the virus. If this type of mask is worn to our office, a surgical or cloth mask should be worn over it for optimal protection of others.
- Patients will not be turned away. We will provide care to patients with scheduled appointments.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation with our staff as we work together to make our offices as safe as possible for our patients and our team.
